Why I Built FitMetrics
Why I Built FitMetrics
Why I Built FitMetrics
In 2022, my coaching business had 8 coaches managing 400+ clients — but it came with a $35,000/month payroll and constant stress. So I built FitMetrics. An AI Coach that could handle check-ins, plan updates, and client conversations — automatically. Fast forward to today, we’ve scaled past 450+ clients with just 2 coaches, lower overhead, and way more value delivered. Now, I’m opening that same system to other coaches who want to grow without the chaos.

Built by a Coach. Engineered by Founders.
Built by a Coach. Engineered by Founders.
Built by a Coach. Engineered by Founders.
I’m Xenios, a software engineer turned entrepreneur.
Over the years, I’ve built multiple businesses — including SoftwareCy, CopeMember, Xeniosfitness, and Renipa — together with my brother and business partner, Sergios, who previously worked in Silicon Valley. We’ve launched and scaled tools used by thousands, combining product obsession with relentless execution.
But FitMetrics wasn’t built like a normal startup.
It didn’t even have a name at first.
Back in 2022, I created a system just for my own coaching business — something that could automate check-ins, update macros, and handle client conversations without me. It was messy, internal, and built for one goal: operational freedom.
Eventually, it worked so well that I stepped away from daily ops. At Xeniosfitness, I don’t do anything anymore — the system and team handle it all. That’s when it clicked:
“What if we could bring this to every coach?”
So we rebuilt it from scratch. Branded it FitMetrics.
And turned a scrappy internal tool into a scalable AI platform — built for coaches who want to grow, without growing their team.
Funny thing is… I never expected anyone else would actually want something this nerdy. But one Facebook post changed everything.
(More on that below.)

The Joke That Started It All
It started as a half-serious post in the Trainerize Facebook group:
“Would anyone be interested in AI integrations like blood test analysis, auto-updated macros, or AI check-ins?”
I expected maybe a few likes. Instead, within 24 hours I had 100+ friend requests, 84 comments, and people messaging nonstop.
That’s when I realized… this might actually be a real thing.

Our First Client
We had no website. No product. No screenshots. Just a big vision.
On April 14, someone paid us $1,578/month purely on trust — believing that we’d deliver something real within 3–4 weeks. That’s how FitMetrics began. No ads. No funnels. Just word of mouth and one bold promise:
“Let me build you an AI Coach that does the work of 5 humans.”
That first payment became our accountability contract. From that moment on, we had no choice but to deliver. And we did.

The Sleepless Grind Begins
The moment that first payment hit… the real work started.
No product. No dev team. Just me, VS Code, and a Positive Potato. 🥔
My routine?
07:00am – Wake up
08:30am – Gym done, breakfast inhaled
09:00am to 02:00am – Code. Eat. Code. Test. Code. Repeat.
No weekends. No Netflix. No nights out.
Just relentless focus and a crazy belief that I could ship something game-changing in under 4 weeks.
This picture was taken during one of those 19-hour coding marathons.
Sleep-deprived but hyped. Because something told me —
this was going to work.
And that little potato? It was a gift from my wife.
She knew how much this project meant to me — and supported me 100%, even through the sleepless nights and the time we didn’t get to spend together. That meant everything.

MVP Goes Live
“It looked like shit… but it worked.”
That was the vibe on April 23 when the first version of FitMetrics officially went live.
No design team. No UI polish. Just raw functionality.
And to my surprise… clients loved it.
They didn’t care about rounded corners or gradients.
They cared about results — and the system started delivering from day one.
This was the day FitMetrics went from “idea” to product.

Top Contributor in Trainerize Group
The Trainerize group went from ignoring me… to flooding my inbox.
DMs, comments, friend requests — every day.
That single post had a ripple effect.
By the end of April, I was named Top Contributor in the group.
We didn’t need ads. We had momentum.
We had hype.
(And when I say “we”… I mean me. It was literally just me coding 17 hours a day 😂)

10 Elite Coaches Joined
We didn’t run ads. We didn’t have a sales team. We didn’t even have a proper UI.
But within 3 weeks, 10 elite coaches were already in.
They didn’t care about polish — they wanted speed, results, and something their clients would love. FitMetrics delivered.
Every time I shipped something new, I’d get messages like:
“Dude, this is a game changer.”
“I F*CKING LOVE YOU.”
“You're my new fav person LOL.”
At that point, I knew we weren’t building software.
We were building a movement.

HIPAA & SOC 2 ✅ Done.
Somewhere between pushing code at 2 a.m. and doing client demos on no sleep…
we also became HIPAA and SOC 2 compliant.
Not sexy. Not shareable. But critical — especially if you want to serve real businesses.
We didn’t just build something cool.
We built something serious.

We Finally Designed a Logo
After two months of building, testing, and shipping…
We realized something:
We still didn’t have a logo. 😅
No website.
No brand guide.
No pitch deck.
Just a solid product — and a growing tribe of obsessed coaches.
So yeah… we finally made one.
And yes, it was decided in Slack within 30 seconds.

Oops. We Forgot the Website
After months of building, testing, and shipping like crazy…
we realized something hilarious: we didn’t even have a real website. 😅
No fancy homepage.
No pitch deck.
No brand guidelines.
Just a rock-solid product — and a tribe of coaches spreading the word.
So here we are: FitMetrics.ai is officially live.
The logo? Picked in Slack in under 30 seconds.
The site? Straight to the point, just like us.
Check it out — well, you’re already here, so… good job. 👏

The Redesign — and the Start of Something Big
After 3 months of testing our MVP in the wild, one thing was clear:
It worked.
Coaches were scaling. Clients were happy.
We weren’t just building software anymore — we were building infrastructure.
So on July 21st, we hit a turning point:
✅ Full product redesign
✅ Clean UI (finally)
✅ New tools, better flow, faster everything
We're still technically in beta — but slowly rolling out the new system to everyone.
Less “hacky startup,” more “ready to scale.”
This was more than a facelift.
It was the foundation for what's coming next.
